Sustainable fashion and style ideas | What outfits and clothes to wear in 2021

Sustainable style and outfit ideas in 2021

2020 was all about jamming in your jammies. But 2021 is going to be all about sustainable fashion. 2020 has taught us that less is more.

Just because we were in our home clothes it doesn't mean that we lacked style. If you ask me, style is a talent. You either have style or you work on it.

This 2021 is going to be special especially for sustainable fashion. Since we are all headed to the outer world with our own unique style choices. Show off your sense of style and creativity with sustainable fashion this year.

One thing that has changed the fashion game in 2021 is definitely going to be the individuality we put in our clothes. Individuality or sustainability doesn't have to cost you a fortune. I'm going to talk about affordable ways to look glamourous. Get ready to make this 2021 a fashion statement and you the style icon.

Fashion is less about what you wear and more about how you feel in it. Comfort has been in style since the 2000s and it looks like it's making a huge comeback. Walk confidently with simple basic outfits that can simply be transformed.

If you want to know how this 2021 is going to impact sustainable fashion and your wardrobe in my opinion,  then keep on reading.

2021 fashion favourites

#1 Comfort

After the lockdown we're all used to snuggling in our pyjamas, wearing comfortable t-shirts, strolling around in our undies. This is definitely going to translate in our outdoor outfits as well, except for the undies part I guess.

We might see a lot of loose fitting clothes making a comeback. You never know home clothes might just make its way outdoors. Your favourite hoodie could be worn on the streets and still be called fashion.

This means that you don't need a ton of clothes, you just need to style the clothes you already have for that comfortable look.

So your new 2021 mantra could be, 'less is more'.

#2 Minimalism

This 2021 bring out your basic T's. We're going back to the basics.

This lockdown has reminded us that we don't need a lot to be happy. Especially not fast fashion. This is the year of sustainable development.

So you don't have to spend hours deciding what to wear. The fewer the items you own the trendier you get.

Some people rush to big brands to make a statement when it comes to minimalism but I prefer wearing option number 3.

#3 DIY Fashion

This year bring out your scissors and become your own fashion designer. This one has to be my favourite. I love to make my own clothes.

You can design an outfit just the way you like, to suit your needs. Use sequences, ribbons, lace buttons and change up a boring outfit into current style and fashion trends.

The best part is that it promotes sustainability, yehhhh!!!

You don't have to know a lot about tailoring, you just need to get creative. If you can't stitch then you can always use fabric glue.

You can watch my YouTube videos for inspiration.

It would be awesome if you could subscribe as well!

#4 Thrift stores

It's not just the poor who shop at thrift stores anymore. Thrift stores are one of the best ways of promoting sustainability.

Sustainable fashion is not only great for the environment but it's definitely making its space  in the Gen Z wardrobe.

The teens of today are a lot more aware of the impact of fashion on the environment.

A lot of them resort to thrift flips to make their clothes personalised and unique. They buy the clothes from thrift stores and rework the outfit to make it a lot more trendy.

There's also a possibility of finding branded pieces in these stores.

Conclusion

Sustainable fashion is the best way to go. It helps the environment and develops your creative skills.

There are no more excuses to not go the sustainable rout. I just gave you 4 affordable ways to promote sustainable development and sustainable fashion.

You don't have to be rich to get sustainable. You just need to be willing to make the change.
